VLC is ok, but it is so dedicated to consuming as little resources as possible, that when my computer opens a program or something of equivalent moderate computational intensity , the play stutters.

Music is very important to me, and my media player should take as much resources as it needs to play music without skipping although preferably no more.

Media Player Classic uses a lot less resources that vlc and is more easier to handle when dealing with filters other other computer along with your own. Not using ini setting will cause the player to save the settings in the Registry.

And we all know the registry don't like to move with us to other computers. Its nothing personal except the folder structure , but still Most schools or gov't computer don't allow the access to the registry by standalone software and or user permission.

Even vlc leaves records in the registry on where it was last on the system. Just pluging you USB stick into the computer leave logs and data about the device and when you last plugged it in left in the registry and log files in the windows and profile directories.

Another thing you should be aware of when using Media Player Classic is that, if not disabled, it will keep a playlist with your latest played files. Just tried VLC Also, I presume you are testing with a commercial source? There is no point doing so with novice reencodes which fail compliance. It is just not playing smoothly. The difference is night and day with just about every other player I've tried. It's just a problem with the way it displays subtitles.
