My drives no longer exsist. No yellow! What do I do? I also can not restore to an earlier date. There is none according to my computer. This all started when I uninstalled Nero 6. I've been working on this for hours. Please Help Me I'm going to answer my own question.

After running several updates I discovered one of them caused my disk drive to stop running. I have searched and worked for 2 days to correct this problem, even went into the registry and tried changing the exact key you advised to delete, all to no avail! Your suggestion worked perfectly and now I am installing software again about to get my system back up after an HD change!

Easy if you can figure out where to look for it. Monday, April 21, PM. There are some registry entries that the troubleshooter does not fix and those "might" be the cause.
Check with your System Maker and Device maker for both possible firmware updates and the correct Registry entries for your drive. Be sure to ask for specific keys involved as well as the settings.
